Chapter 10
‘What are death killers?’ Albus asked himself. The nurse came over to his bed and handed him a stack of clothes.
“How does your arm feel, Albus?” asked Madam Gargglesnout.
“I feel great, Madam Gargglesnout. I’ll go to breakfast now. Thank you.” Albus got out of bed, brushed his teeth, changed his clothes, and walked out of the hospital. He remembered that Garry Reed was also in the hospital. Albus
walked over to where Garry’s bed was. There seemed to be a lump for a body, but nothing was resting on the pillow. Albus’s heart pounded like a drum as he lifted up the covers of the bed. He was astonished to find that there was no body, indeed, but two pillows posing as a body.
Albus had heard a sound like a person walking out, but he had thought that it was just Madam Gargglesnout
walking out. As he walked out, Albus thought things over. At the end, Albus decided that he should talk to his friends.
“Albus! Are you feeling better? Professor Malfoy said to give you this book, said Rosie as she handed him a book entitled A History of the Forbidden Forest.
“Yea I’m fine," Albus said as he accepted the book. "Gather in close. I saw something fishy in the infirmary.” Albus’s friends drew in.
“A few people walked in while Madam Gargglesnout was getting food. Gary Reed was in their arms, but he seemed petrified. They set him on the bed across from me. As the people walked out, I heard them talk about something called Death Killers.”
“Death Killers?” Rosie asked. “In all my textbooks, I’ve heard about Death Eaters, but there was no word about Death Killers.”
“Careful, Rosie. We don't want others to know. I think Professor Malfoy is a leader of the group. Yesterday night, I
snuck out and followed Professor Malfoy into a mysterious room that I didn’t see before. He was scolding a man for petrifying someone named Gary. Professor Malfoy is a Hogwarts traitor. When the professors brought Gary in, all of the professors were there except for Professor Malfoy.”
“Well, during Defense Against the Dark Arts today, Professor Malfoy did
seem a little suspicious,” said Ceasar.
“A man in black robes and a black hood came into the classroom and
Professor Malfoy walked out with him,” added Taylor.
“Taylor, Ceasar, did either of you see where the man and Professor Malfoy were headed?” asked Albus.
“Before the door closed,” said Taylor, “they were headed towards a random hallway.”
“But,” Albus said, “when I went to check on Gary, he was gone.” Suddenly, Madam Hooch ran into the Great Hall. She whispered something to Dumbledore.
“Everyone! Go to your dormitories now! Prefects, lead the way!”Dumbledore shouted. Albus looked up and saw that Professor Malfoy and Longbottom were nowhere to be seen.
