After the train left the station, Albus walked back to the train compartment where his brother and cousin were sitting. James was already chewing on a Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Bean.

  "Ughhh. I got earwax for the third time in a row!" James complained as he spat out the chewed-up bean. He was a mischievous student but also a popular one. Being the kind sibling he was though, he had offered to sit with Albus on his very first trip to Hogwarts. .

  "James, shouldn't you be studying for our classes? I am already ahead of all my classes. I've heard that Professor Gaunt isn't so easy on the homework." Rosie, to Albus, was the "smart one". Though she sometimes irritated Albus with the topic of studying and school in the summertime, they were close friends, if not cousins. She had bright orange hair and countless freckles, just like her father. 

  "Relax, Rosie. James is the one who started that rumor. And besides, classes don't start until a week after sorting," Albus said.

  "Whatever. I'm going to see if the older students have any used textbooks they want to give me," replied Rosie. Albus rolled his eyes behind her back.

  "I heard that Courtney Padilla is in the next compartment. She texted me over the summer with her OWLPad. She said she wants to hang out sometime," said James.

  Albus watched them leave and laid down on the warm compartment seat. Yawning, he slowly closed his eyes and fell asleep.
