Samantha Love: a Ravenclaw’s Journey
In this article, we are going to celebrate the wonderful founder of the HDN, Samantha Love. We all appreciate her hard work, so here is an article dedicated to her story.
It might not seem like that long ago when Samantha Love joined Hogwarts is Here on May 7, 2020. She joined because her sister, Kaela Black, told her about the site. Kaela Black had just joined that day and she found this site while googling fun Harry Potter games online. Samantha was a witty and bored Ravenclaw at first she found enjoyment in doing some course work but it became tedious and was not much of a challenge.
Naturally, she wrote a book, “Notes to ace your classes.” This book has only about 100 reads, 14 chapters and A LOT of help to give. She was not happy with writing class notes anymore but she did not know what else she could do.
As newspaper/magazine companies came and went, Samantha was still dissatisfied. While she was checking out what was new on HiH, she had an idea.
“What if I make a newspaper group?” she announced to her sister. Kaela thought it was a awesome idea and wanted to help. Kaela had experience in writing because of all of the after school writing clubs she was in. They quickly started up their business on May 21st 2020. They wrote an article to go in their first issue, ”PA Applications” by: Kaela Black. With only one article in the issue, it now has over 100 reads.
As the newspaper company expanded, we began to need more members. As a result, Samantha Love interviewed and accepted our first real member (Kaela was more of a partner at the time), Cho Granger.
Naturally the next step was worrying about the quality of our newspaper. So she made sure the new people she hired could write. But after Samantha Love thought the writing quality was perfect she began upgrading the quantity.
But not just the size of the articles how many articles were in each issue. The size of the articles quickly went from one paragraph to five and the number of articles in a issue followed in suite.
Soon there were too many people requesting to work in the HDN and the new people that got there were not very experienced. So Samantha Love thought the HDN could make a Intern group so that her employees would be more experienced when it came to working at the HDN.
One day in April, Samantha Love took interest in an intern’s writing quality and leadership skills and promoted her right up to the big group. This person wrote several articles that wowed everyone and quickly became co-manager. This person is none other than Celeste Evergreen.
Things were slowing down a bit as the HDN reached their 50th issue and proud of it. Members and interns came and went getting promoted and becoming in-active. But new members came in right after that.
At this point Samantha Love became dissatisfied once again as the things in HDN became a regular routine and much easier. This Ravenclaw was looking for a challenge.
That same day, Samantha was told that Kaela Black was running for Gryffindor Representative in the HiH student council elections. She immediately was interested and at first planned to run for Ravenclaw rep, then publicist and finally Vice president.
With the election still a month away Samantha started on course work while still directing HDN of course! She once again was dissatisfied… so long story short she made a group account so that multiple people could complete coursework each person assigned a different class so that they could apply to be a PA and eventually a Professor (wow. that was a mouth full).
After she worked on that for a while the elections were just around the corner!
Despite her running a newspaper company with 3 sections, being a part time author, and making a multi-user course work account she managed the voting for the 42 hour student council election… yep!
She won but surprisingly not unopposed. Samantha quickly fulfilled her duties of Vice President. She made a student Jury and offered the HDN to be the publicist for the group.
The HDN became one of the publicists for the Student Council and Samantha Love held her first Jury meeting!
The HDN was going through some big changes as the school year came. They decided they were only going to post on Saturday because school became pretty hectic.
That brings us up to date on the on going story of Samantha Love the founder of HDN, Student Council Vice President, and Author. As we look forward to writing the rest of her story we can only hope Samantha’s footprint on Hogwarts is Here only gets bigger.

In Remembrance of...
Three special members of the HDN who have left: Beezer Granger, Callie Granger, and Hermione Potter Granger (Jemma).
Beezer has left for good. She will always have a special place in our hearts and we will never forget her. She was a wonderful friend, author, and co-worker. Thank you Beezer.
Beezer went on to make her own newspaper company, and we look forward to partnering with “Weekly Magic” in the near future.
Callie Granger has left but she may come back for the summer, we are not sure. Callie, thank you for being a wonderful friend and fellow HDN member. We will always remember you, and we hope you can come back for the summer.
Hermione Potter Granger now named “Jemma” has also left for the school year. She was our head writer and one of the writers of Crafting Magic. Hopefully she will continue to write amazing articles with us next summer.
There are also many that have left just for the school year, and pardon me if I forgot anyone.

What’s going on with HDN
Many people may be wondering what is happening with HDN. With everyone getting ready to go to school, or home school, we all are getting busy.
Not to worry because we are not closing HDN. We consider it for a while. One of our best managers and writers left. Others are going into an in - active HDN group. With less writers, management and support. We are going to need your help.
If you have any writing experience or this sounds like a fun job that you want to commit to, don’t be afraid to join. You can owl Samantha Love or Celeste Evergreen to make a request.
But, if you want to help but, don’t want to join there are many other helping opportunities. You can, offer assistance to any of our managers. But, most importantly you can share HDN and HiH with everyone. We need readers to keep this company alive and strong. So please tell your friends, make a post on your wall with #HDNforthewin. You can also post that on Samantha Love, Celeste Evergreen, Lucy Pena, or Kaela Black’s wall. Or any of our writers. Do you have followers? Then we need your help. We work hard every day to save this newspaper company. Because, though some companies come and go; We stay strong.

Fun Fact
Time for today’s fun fact!! Ok, so you probably know that Ginny became a quidditch correspondent/sports reporter for the Daily Prophet, but before that, Ginny Weasley actually became a professional Quidditch player for the Holyhead Harpies! She eventually retired to take care of her children. I would have liked to have Harry become a professional quidditch player, but he worked as Head of Magical Law Enforcement in the Ministry of Magic!
