For the huge amount of time that I spent with her, the abilities we shared and the family we have in common Looking back on it I have spent an incredibly small amount of time with her parents. Edward Tonks a muggle-born wizard and was married to Andromeda Black a Pure-blood witch and sister to Narcissa Malfoy and Bellatrix Lestrange. It is here that you can start to see the connections.
I had known their daughter Nymphadora Tonks since the age of 9 and yet I didn’t meet her parents until I was 13 merely by coincidence or maybe it was luck. Tonks and I are both metamorphmagi and looking back on it I wonder if my uncle didn’t get parenting tips from them. Perhaps there is a book about how to parent your transfigurating child. Something like that.
They were obviously people my uncle and mother knew, how could they not? These were people that he went to school with. By ‘97 I was even living in Andromeda’s sister’s house. Narcissa became more and more like a mother to me. Bellatrix was torturing me to see how long I could withstand her curses. It was quite a long time before I found out about Andromeda’s connection to the two other women in my life. I was told never to mention her name, never to think it. To block it.
Ted Tonks died in March ’98. After loosing Tonks as well I needed cover. I found it with Andromeda Tonks who was caring for her grandson Teddy Lupin. It wasn’t that I needed anything from her I just wanted to be a part of something that I hadn’t been before, and I found it with them.
