Don't judge me

Chapter 1
Never had I been so hated, so despised by the students of Hogwarts. My uncle was now the murderer of one of the most powerful and most respected wizards of our generation. The irony is that that wasn’t the worst part. Only my closest friends and chosen Death Eaters knew that my father was Voldemort.

When the Ministry were hunting down my uncle there was no way that they were going to find him. There is a sense of relief in a way and a sense of torment that you endure but I was finally to play a role that I had been dreading. A role that would mean I had to become a double agent. At times I had no idea which side I was on.

Being a transfigurist/metamorphmagus, I find it hard to control my feelings and powers. I can be erratic. I can be tempermental. When I was at the Manor, surrounded by Death Eaters, I my hair and clothes would be dark, often frayed, I would wear black or green, my skin became luminescent and I would speak Parseltongue with my father. When at the Burrow I would have a sunny disposition, the fireworks and games of Fred and George were everything I needed.

I rarely sat at the table with the others, my father was often protective of the things that I witnessed and the company I kept. Narcissa would come and get me from the bedroom or the portrait would summon me. I can only state the obvious by saying that people were terrified of my father and as I knew that I was “protected” I knew they could not harm me. I admit this makes you feel a certain power over the others. Not that it helped in certain circumstances but I had to show him that I was capable and my uncle had raised me well.

In July 1997 I started to spend more and more time at the Manor. I had my suspicions that my father knew how my mother had died. It could have been because he used Legilimency or it could have been because one of us acted towards it. Regardless he certainly made life very difficult for the Malfoys even more so after Lucius returned from Azkaban. He ordered them to take me in and look after me, he used their house as a residence and meeting place, and finally he took Lucius’s wand.

My father’s wand was Yew with a Phoenix Feather core, mine is Sycamore with a Dragon Heartstring core. I placed it in front of him and he ignored it. He told me later that he would not deprive me of my wand. He would not take such an article of great importance from me. Instead he took that of Lucius. Elm with a Dragon Heartstring core.
I had to be brave throughout these times. I had to be a true Gryffindor to stand up to what I needed to do and I did it. I took the curses that were hurled at me by Bellatrix and I survived.
