Light was flashing through the halls as shrieks of pain and shouts of spells echoed off the walls. I narrowly dodged a Cruciatus Curse and sent one flying back at the witch who had sent it. She collapsed in agony and I shrieked in excitement. I bolted down the hall to find myself face to face with Remus Lupin. He smiled and congratulated me on finding him. "You need to find somewhere safe to hide. You're too young to fight." I looked at him, shocked. "But sir, I can help, I know I can!" He grabbed my arm and looked me in the eyes. "We don't need anymore deaths." I nodded and ran for the Great Hall. What I saw still haunts me. Laying on a cot next to a wall was my best friend, Stella. I ran over and fell to her side. She was dead. I cried on top of her lifeless body. "Why? Why you? I should've been there. I'm so sorry." I got up and dried my eyes. It was my turn to fight.
