Chapter 1
Me bolosolva latcheraj (elvish for ... my remaining memory)
Once upon a time, there lived a little girl. She was only just two years old. She lived in a very small house with her mother, she was a beautiful woman, tall elegant, with long brown hair and pale skin. This is my memory
LOUISA SNAPE-RIDDLE: Da jois! Da jois! Da jois (the girl was running around the living room and up to the window sparks fly from her)
SEVERINA SNAPE: (exits the kitchen) Louisa he can’t understand that (places a book back on the shelf) speak English.
LOUISA SNAPE-RIDDLE: (the girl looks puzzled) Ok? With Nagini?
SEVERINA SNAPE: Yes, Daddy will bring Nagini. What happened to your hair?
LOUISA SNAPE-RIDDLE: (she shrugs)
LORD VOLDEMORT: Hello, it seems Cokeworth gets worse with each visit.
LOUISA SNAPE-RIDDLE: Daddy!
SEVERINA SNAPE: Hello Tom (she strokes his face) well?
LORD VOLDEMORT: We prosper. This time next year we will be together.
I brought something for you my Little Lou. (the girl stares at him her eyes wide)
*Senas past hi sanni* (The girl sits down, closes her eyes and holds out her hands)
SEVERINA SNAPE: Does she understand Tom? (he nods)
LOUISA SNAPE-RIDDLE: My prize! (Voldemort conjures a pink rabbit and gives it to her)
LORD VOLDEMORT: Well done Louisa. (notices her hair) What happened here?
SEVERINA SNAPE: I don’t know, you know it has always been strange. You just notice now it is so long.
LORD VOLDEMORT: A metamorphmagus?
SEVERINA SNAPE: You think? It’s so rare. What if she is a maledictus?
LORD VOLDEMORT: Cursed? Nagini take a look. (Nagini encircles the child who laughs).
LOUISA SNAPE-RIDDLE: Nagini!
NAGINI: *Maassh* (the girl runs to the box under the window, Nagini follows, looks at Voldemort and shakes her
head.)
SEVERINA SNAPE: Louisa, what colour is Daddy’s cloak?
LOUISA SNAPE-RIDDLE: Black
LORD VOLDEMORT: Louisa, I want you to think of my cloak and the colour. (Louisa screws up her eyes for a moment, her nose wrinkles.) What colour is my cloak?
LOUISA SNAPE-RIDDLE: Black (her hair turns black; her eyes turn black and her clothes turn black. The parents are shocked)
SEVERINA SNAPE: Louisa, what colour are Nagini’s eyes? (The little girl turns to look at the snake, she had seen them so many times but could not remember…)
LOUISA SNAPE-RIDDLE: Yellow? (she stares at the snake) yes yellow. (She turns back to her parents)
SEVERINA SNAPE: …Tom…?
LORD VOLDEMORT: (in the kitchen) Just conjure something.
SEVERINA SNAPE: Her eyes Tom. They’re snake-like. (she stares into her face)
LORD VOLDEMORT: Andromeda’s girl is the same, you are not related to her are you?
SEVERINA SNAPE: Not that I know.
(Voldemort is smiling now. A different smile. His daughter has a rare gift. This proves his power above all).
LORD VOLDEMORT: The house is ready for you my love. But we must go.
(he kisses his wife and daughter and leaves)
