Chapter 5
Now Andi has to walk to class. She mutters under her breath, trying to give herself confidence, as nobody else was there to do anything like that for her. “Long strides, hold your head high, smile…?”
She tries to do that, but her smile falters the second an older boy points at her and laughs at the heavy boots and black clothing she wears. He hands her a witch hat and says, “Here’s an accessory that’ll complete your outfit. I’m sure your witch mum would be proud!”
She stares at the boy with a certain flaming fury until it fades from her. She takes off running down the hallways, anywhere away from the horror that bullying is. Her boots skid and papers fly everywhere as she continues fleeing from the boy who was now chasing her, attracting attention from onlookers who cheered the boy on.
Andi ran into a wall, wait..no. A boy who takes her by the hand and looks into her eyes. He tells her, “Follow me,” as he races off into the distance.
Not having any other choice, Andi runs after him.
