Katie Bell was never one of the students that I got on with the best, but she was in my year and I had heard a lot about her from Fred and George because she was on the Gryffindor Quidditch Team, and had been for the whole time I had been at Hogwarts. So, she was quite a big part of my life. She was very good and hardly got in trouble. She was in all the same classes as me and we had fun together.

It was our 7th and final year at Hogwarts when she ended up in St Mungo’s Hospital. It meant that she had to retake many final exams. All because of a Necklace. The necklace had been cursed and she picked it up. There was a very small hole in her gloves, I doubt she even knew it was there but the smallest amount of skin needs to touch the curse to have a reaction. She was very lucky.

According to Leanne; she had been in Hogsmeade with Leanne and many other Hogwarts students. She went to the girl’s bathrooms in “The Three Broomsticks” and came out with a box to give to Professor Dumbledore. They had opened it up to see what was inside and found the necklace. They only went to touch it when Katie was lifted high up into the air, screamed at the top of her voice and fell like a crumpled mess onto the floor. She was taken to the Hospital wing where Professor Snape and Mme Pomfrey did their best to rid her of all the evil in her. By the next day she was the talk of the school and I was sending updates to the Weasley’s to let them know how she was. That’s when she was sent to St Mungo’s.
