The Dormitory - Draco P.O.V

Chapter 8
With Hermione on my good side, the train ride goes by in semi-comfortable silence. When we arrive at Hogwarts we get off the train, and get into a thestral pulled carriage.
“It’s pretty scary how a lot of people can see these,” I say to Granger as we near the castle.
It was true. The older students who had arrived were petting the horse-like creatures, while some younger students stared at them like they were crazy.
“Yeah. I honestly wish we couldn’t. Too many bad vibes.”
“Well... if the war didn’t happen...” I ponder
“Malfoy stop, it’s not your fault. So stop it right now” She snaps, suddenly mad “Voldemort was a bad person and there would have been a war anyway. Just because you made a bad choice doesn’t mean your life is haunted by that choice.”
We walked up to the dormitory in silence, but it wasn’t comfortable at all. I was deep in thought, and Granger seemed, well sort of mad.
“Green Apple,” I say to the portrait.
“Correct,” it says, swinging forward to admit us.
I let Hermione go first, and then step through the portrait hole after her. I look around stunned at the sight. Beside me, Granger gasps, and I twist my head in every way, soaking it all in.
There is a huge fireplace, with ruby red couches and armchairs gathered around it. There are two grand desks, on the other side of the room, each having our name on it, in the means of a name tag. There are bookshelves, full of all kinds of books. One bookshelf is all textbooks, while other books in general. And yet another is Muggle books and magazines. I look at Granger, to realize that she is now walking down the hallway, that I suspect leads to our dorms.
“Wow, this place is no joke,” I tell her as we walk down the hall.
“You got that right!” She says and then comes to a stop, smiling a little, tiny bit at me.
There are three doors, one with a Slytherin banner on the door, and with a Gryffindor banner, and in the middle of the two, an unmarked door.
I look at Granger and smile, as her smile widdens. We both run towards that door and open it.
