Secret Snape
Chapter 3
It is so hard to not tell a secret when you know something so big. But I was so good at keeping secrets by this point that I was hidden in everything. Hidden in the lines, hidden in the speech.
How do I know who this Half-Blood Prince is? At the time I was but seventeen. As I say I recognised the handwriting. I knew from experience that the person writing in this book had cause to write in it. They also tended to have somewhat of a flare for the art that is potion making.
It is a nickname that I am aware was used by my uncle during his time at Hogwarts and is in various books that we have at home. In my books I always wrote Eléa Prince, which is the name given to me by the elves. My mother chose not to use a nickname and all of her books are addressed as SS.
I always found the fact that Harry was using the “special book” a wonderous thought. He had always made such a point of hating even loathing the person I loved that it became incredibly funny to have him wonder about the Half-Blood Prince. I swear he became so intoxicated by the book that he must have been dreaming about it in the end. I didn’t need to tell Professor Snape in the end. Harry made the biggest mistake and used it as a weapon. I was in no trouble as it was a book in the cupboard.
