My copy of Advanced Potion-Making came from our second-hand Snape selection, as I used to call it. There was nothing special about it, nothing that made it remarkable or unremarkable. To whom it used to belong I could not tell you. When Harry started doing well in Potions class, I thought maybe it was because of the new teacher Horace Slughorn. I didn’t do as well with him but perhaps others would find his way of teaching advantageous. It was then that Ginny and Hermione told me that it was because of this book he had found. Book? What book? It wasn’t as though we had a good history on finding “special” books.

“He says it has notes in it” said Ginny.

“I checked it there is nothing suspicious” said Hermione, slightly indignantly.

“I’ll take a look.” Was my only answer. It seemed to satisfy them.

When I saw Harry, in the Great Hall I asked him about it.
