Chapter 1
Welcome to N.E.W.T. level Potions. I would like to give a small presentation about Love Potions, I promise It won’t be too long. I have a “Guide to Transfiguration” but feel that as a Snape, Potions and in particular Love potions are what I would like to address.
Love is one subject that I tend to become stuck on. I find it a difficult subject to breech not only because as soon as love potions are mentioned, my father becomes a topic of conversation as well as my grandparents. The comments end up being “she must have been a hag to have needed to use a love potion on him”, “that’s why he’s messed up” and “hope he doesn’t have children of his own coz then we’ll be in even worse trouble”. It goes in a circle. I won’t look at his love for my mother because I believe I have already done that but I want to look at one time that became awkward, which was when we were learning how to exemplify our potions with the simple yet tricky Amortentia Potion in my 7th year.
