I have sat here for the last few hours wondering what it must be like to grow up with a father. The honest truth is, I just can’t tell you. I don’t know what it is like. I have seen others grow around the concept but I never managed to get a hold of it. At full power, a person capable of speech, spells and direction. I took it all in. But never having been a part of my life I was missing a fundamental piece of the puzzle.

My uncle was the main man in my life the one that saw me through each and every difficult situation. Every death, every disaster. Our house-elf answered to us both but in fact he was only to belong to me. The other men that I was seeing as father figures were men like Albus Dumbledore, Arthur Weasley and Mr Diggory. All could talk to me as though I was their daughter but I will never know what it is to have a father.

I don’t know what it is to have a father so if you know please tell me. Is it that they care about you? There seems to be a gap in my heart. I hope my children know what their father’s love is and understand more than I ever did. That is not to say that what I had wasn’t as good it was just different.
