Chapter 5
If my District had a TV for each of us, all I would do was watch. But, there is only one TV in the center of the District. Life is tough now that Katniss is gone. Gale comes everyday, to bring us food, and my mother has become a nurse. I've seen blood before, but the blood on our kitchen table today is nothing comparable. A girl has been cut open with an axe. It lodged in between her ribs. She died an hour ago, to the grief of her family. I have made them tea, and now they are in the forest burying her. She went to school with me, in my grade. Gale is sitting by me as I whimper, and patting my back. I'm not crying about the girl, but my sister; or, The Girl on Fire. She had a lovely dress on for the first shot. It breaks my heart that she and Peeta have to be In love, she's in love with Gale! I told this to Gale last week, and he said nothing. He just sighed. I stand up and leave the house, and Gale. I go and sit on a fence, still crying. Then I hear the TV turn on, and run to the center. Katniss's interview! She talks, and spins for 3 minutes. The crowds love her. Just like I do. Then its Peeta's turn. 'Undying love, since I met her' blegh. I turn back to go home when I see Gale kissing someone! Madge! How could he? I march over and yell at them. "GALE! HOW COULD YOU? MY SISTER LOVES YOU! YOU ARE CHEATING, AREN'T YOU? I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU!" Iscream and run back to my house. Sobbing again.
