Chapter 1
He's ugly. But good enough, I quess. Katniss hates him. I'll name him Buttercup, because he has little yellow parts on his fur. Cute. Ish. Nope. But I have to convince Katniss that he's cute. My name is Primrose Everdeen. My sister, Katniss, is my best friend. My father died a couple years back in a mine explosion. Tomarow is the reaping ceremony. Its my first year as a possible tribute. Katniss says I won't get picked because my name is one in a some eight hundred. Mother, well, Katniss has scraped up just enough money to but me a dress. She wears one of mother's old dresses. Green. Mother will come too, in one of her dresses. I cannot wait. My nerves have made me I'll. I vomit in the toilet
But no one comforts me. I'm used to this. I clean up and go outside. I see Gale and wave for him to come over.
