Chapter 2
Lynndziey leaned back in her seat, causing Britnie to smack her with her script out of annoyance.
"Can you not lean your seat back?" asked Britnie. "I'm trying to memorize my lines. Plus, the plane will be landing soon, so might as well not get too comfortable."
Rolling her eyes, Lynndziey sat back up, raising the volume on her iPod as she did. Black Veil Brides blocked out all of the sounds from the other flyers, including the obnoxious snores emanating from her dad beside her. She peered out the window and watched, falling into the usual trance her music induced in her. Her family was returning to Demonica, her hometown. The Fox's had lived in New York for the past 8 years, ever since her sister Lecksi had gone missing and her family's closest friends had been accused.
Over the years, she had grown to miss the small town, so small that most people didn't even know it existed. Lynndziey had begged her parents to at least visit, but every time, her dad crushed her wishes. However, now that she was flying towards it, she as beginning to grow nervous, though she couldn't explain why.
Britnie had put on a calm mask, but Lynndziey knew that when her sister started reading old plays she had been in. like the one she was reading now, which she had starred in three years ago, she was just masking her feelings. In actuality, shew as just as nervous as Lynndziey was.
The plane began its descent and soon touched down. In no particular hurry, Lynndziey hung back and waited for every passenger to get off the plane before she followed, meeting her family over at the baggage claim. On more than one occasion, she had asked her parents why they were moving back, but never once did either of them answer her. Demonica had not held any interest for her parents since Lecksi had vanished, so why move back? And why the year before Britnie and Lynndziey were due to graduate?

Studying the picture, he plotted his moves. After he had been told he wasn't a bad artist, Jaykob never wanted to make a single mistake with his work, no matter if he was using pencil, paint, or chalk. Jaykob picked up his pencil and began to make the first mark on the black paper. His hand flowed smoothly, the nerves gone after years of practice. The Art teacher at his school was very interested in his work, more so than any other student's. She told him that his art really portrayed feeling, which is something all great artists needed to do: put enough work into their piece for the viewer to be able to feel something real. Though she wished he would draw from life rather than photos.
"Hey, Dad wants us in the garage," stated Nathin, popping his head into Jaykob's room.
Jaykob threw a sheet over his canvas quickly so that his art wasn't seen. He didn't like when one of his brothers, or either of his parents, saw his work. "I'm coming," he replied.
Nathin raised a suspicious eyebrow at him but didn't say anything. He turned away and walked to the garage, Jaykob right behind him after he closed and locked his bedroom door. As usual, Mychel was working on his newest project, an old, but sought after by all the collectors, car that he had found in the auto junk shop near where he worked. He was always looking for a new car to fix up and always had a new one parked in the garage every week. There was one special reason he was able to fix cars so fast, but the boys didn't talk about it in front of any one.
"You listening, Mychel?" inquired their father.
"I'm all ears," replied Mychel from under the car, the only thing of him showing was his legs.
"Alright. Now, tomorrow you boys start your senior year."
"Please don't tell me you're going to get all mushy on us," said Nathin.
"Your mother wants to do that. Anyway, I just wanted to talk to you boys about the future and how fast it is approaching. Soon you will all be off on your own-"
"Dad," interrupted Jaykob, placing a hand on his father's shoulder. "don't worry, we know all of this."
Mychel came out from underneath the car, grease all over his hands, face, and neck. He wiped his hands on his jeans as he said, "Plus, we all promise to visit you and Mom often. It'll be like we still live here."
Their dad smiled at the triplets and went back into the house. Mychel slid back under the car and got back to work as Jaykob leaned against the wall and Nathin sat down.
"What's the future hold, Jaykob?" asked Nathin.
"Do you really think that;s fair?" Mychel inquired. "Using his power like that?"
"You do it too."
"That's different. I use my power for help. And I use the information that I get."
"Yes, being able to touch something or someone and see into it's past is great, and helps you find out what happened to the car so you can fix it quickly."
"You're just jealous that all you can do is take power from dead people."
"They don't need the power any more."
"It happens so rarely. And you only get to keep the power for a month."
"Actually, I was reading something about people like us and it says that if a special incantation is said, I get to keep the power forever, or until I decide to get rid of it."
"Incantation? Like a spell? Are you a wizard now too?"
Nathin rolled his eyes and turned back to Jaykob. "So?"
Sighing, Jaykob said, "I went to 2020 last night and things are looking good."
"Awesome. I love having a time traveler as a brother. And I know you like what you can do because it helps with your art. Speaking of which, what did you hide when I came in to your room?"
"Nothing. Hey, do you guys remember the Fox triplets?"
"More like twins now, but yeah, why?"
"Did you really just say that?" demanded Mychel. "How about we not talk about Lecksi, alright?"
"Well, according to that book Nathin's reading, it says the three Fates won't know of what they can do until they turn eighteen," Jaykob told them, stopping any argument that might have happened between the two.
"And?"
"I know for a fact they they're the Fates. They'll be 18 tomorrow."

Growling, Lynndziey slammed her hand down on her alarm. In the distance she could hear her family bustling around. Her parents were about to leave for their first days at work, having been transferred so their jobs were still intact. Britnie was always up before Lynndziey so that she could make breakfast for everyone. On more than one occasion, Lynndziey had offered to make breakfast but gave up when Britnie wouldn't budge. Plus, she had to admit, Britnie was a by far better cook.
Mr. and Mrs. Fox called out their hellos, good byes, and I love yous as they headed out the front door. Lynndziey sat down to eat and Britnie drifted out of the kitchen to finish getting ready. Once they were both ready, they hoped into their cars and left .
"Where's your first class?" Lynndziey inquired after they got their schedules for that year.
"Theater," answered Britnie. "I'm heading there now." She hugged her sister and departed.
Lynndziey looked back down at her schedule and decided to go to her first class now also. No one had gone to the Creative Writing class yet, so Lynndziey was alone. But shew as used to it. When you dressed the way she did, no one but those that also loved the color black normally wanted anything to do with you. By the time fourth period had ended and most of the seniors were leaving because they only had four classes, while the others and the underclassmen went to lunch, Lynndziey still hadn't talked to anyone, but she could see that Britnie had made plenty of friends.

'No way that's her,' Jaykob told himself as he sat down with his sketch pad. He sat and watched as the girl talked to one of the faculty members .
She seemed slightly nervous as she held her books infront of her chest. Whoever she was, she also seemed unable to stand still, as she was constantly shifting from her left to her right foot. And when she tucked her hair behind her ear, he gasped. A guitar pick and an L hung from a paperclip earring she wore, and Jaykob knew an earring like that wasn't sold, anyone that had it must have made it themselves.
He opened up his sketch pad and began drawing. Jaykob really only focused on her face, which he could see clearly. Luckily she didn't move until he had it all sketched; he'd fix it up so it looked just like her when he got home. That day in Art, the teacher had said they'd be starting that months project tomorrow. He had always preferred to draw people, but this time the teacher wanted him to add background.
Jaykob shrugged and closed his sketch pad. He'd go back in time and get the background. He could even draw her in the clothes belonging to the time, just as long as her face stayed the same, he'd love it.

"How was your first day?" inquired Mrs. Fox at dinner that night.
"Fun, I can't wait to go back," said Britnie. "I talked to the theater teacher about ideas for this semesters play and she said she'd love my help."
"That's great news, sweetie. What about you, Lynndziey?"
"Same as always. May I be excused?"
"You have hardly touched your dinner."
"I'm not that hungry."
"Are you okay?"
"Oh, I'm fine."
Mrs. Fox looks slightly concerned. "Alright, honey."
Lynndziey got up and went upstairs to her room. She spent a few minutes on both Facebook and Myspace before just turning her computer off and starting to read a book her mother had given her. After an hour she began to feel... weird. It felt like an urge of some kind. Lynndziey set her book down and got up, moving around. It seemed to do the trick, but then she saw something and came to a halt. Light was shining from the inside of her closet, though she had not turned that light on. Cautiously, Lynndziey walked over and opened the door. Then something pulled her forward and when she looked around, nothing was familiar.
"Lynndziey?" Britnie asked.
"Where are we?" Lynndziey replied.
"You have both been transported to our land," said a female voice. The two turned to look and saw a woman and a man standing before them. "Olympus."
"As in the Greek place?"
"Somewhat. This place was named after the mountain the gods live on, for we live here so that we can pass on the powers."

"What a fine surprise this is," exclaimed the teenage boy at the door. "Do come in, my friend."
Jaykob smiled and crossed over the threshold into the familiar house. It looked different from the last time he had been inside. Then again, the last time he had been there was that day, but in 2009 rather than 1824 like he was in now.
"It has been too long, William," said the boy as they sat down in the living room.
Jaykob went by different names depending on the time period he decided to visit. For the future he didn't have to change his name, but he had to for the past, particularly the spelling.
"That it has, Johnathon," agreed Jaykob.
"What brings about this visit?"
"I was merely passing through."
"Always the traveler." They laughed.
"My heart cries out for different places, I guess."
"Well, at least you are fulfilling your hearts wish."
Jaykob smiled and then looked towards the stairs as a woman dressed in a beautiful Victorian era dress descended.
"William!" she called, her face lighting up. She hurried down the stairs and hugged him tightly.
He embraced ehr back as he said, "How are you, Elizabeth?" Jaykob held her at arms length and looked into her eyes.
"Forever better when you return."
"I am glad I can brighten your days."
"Though they would all stay brightened if you chose to stay."
"And how I wish I could, but my father needs me to stay with him."
Elizabeth smiled slightly out of disappointment but the loving look in her eyes stayed. Jaykob knew she loved him, and it crushed her every time he left, but he couldn't just stay in 1824. More than once he wished he could in fact stay with her, for she was a desired beauty among the men of 1824 Demonica. He even thought he could start a relationship with her and visit this year every night, but Mychel told him he was messing with the past enough, there was no need to risk anything else and possibly changing the future. But Jaykob knew her future.
Elizabeth would grow old, get married, have kids, all of the things a girl should go through, and Jaykob figured it was safe to be with her just as long as she found the man shew as really meant to be with. The only thing that stopped him from being with her was that his heart already belonged to another.
