Chapter 1
The snow lay thick on the ground outside Hagrid’s Hut. The lake was frozen solid and Louisa Snape could hear the moans of the winter trees. Rumours were flying all over the place about Hagrid being back at the school. She ran quickly from the breakfast hall to Professor Snape’s Office to catch him before any other students arrived.
She knocked on the door of his office and crept in, only to find Professor Umbridge with him.
PROF UMBRIDGE: Hem hem Miss Snape I believe you are to enter when someone permits you.
LOUISA: I was called my Professor Snape.
PROF SNAPE: Indeed.
PROF UMBRIDGE: I see, and for what reason?
Louisa and Snape look at her at the same time, look back, and continue.
PROF SNAPE: There are instructions. Stick to them. (his eyes widen as he hands her a bag)
LOUISA: Yes Professor. Thank you.
PROF UMBRIDGE: And what is this for?
LOUISA: (turning to her) Healing Professor. I’ve been ill over the last month, Mme Pomfrey and Professor Snape
have been very generous.
PROF UMBRIDGE: But, correct me if I am wrong, you are related are you not?
PROF SNAPE: Indeed.
PROF UMBRIDGE: Hmm, and you are the guardian of Miss Snape as her mother is dead?
Louisa felt her face turn red.
PROF SNAPE: Indeed. (he puts an arm in front of Louisa knowing her only too well.)
LOUISA: Excuse me professors, I must put these in my room.
She turned sharply, her robes wafting down the corridor after her. She had no intentions of going to the Gryffindor Girls Dorm. She was going to Hagrid’s Hut. She at least knew where Umbridge was and could count on Snape to keep her there for a few minutes longer so she ran the quickest way she knew.
