Taking Notes
Chapter 6
One of the first things my teachers have told me since I started at Hogwarts was: take good notes! And I have.
I was at Honeydukes again today, buying some Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans when a friend of mine from Slytherin house came in. My friend, Rose, had always wanted to be a Ravenclaw and was not mean or anything. She was only put in Slytherin because she had ambition. She asked me if she wanted to go to the Hog's Head for some butterbeer. I went with her and she told me that she hadn't been doing so well in Defense Against the Dark Arts. She knew that I was talented at the subject and was hoping that she could borrow my notes. She put her hand on mine for emphasis. I told her that I was sorry, but I had already promised my friend Liz that she could borrow my notes. Rose withdrew her hand.
"I'm sorry!" I said.
Rose looked pained. "It's okay."
"Let me buy you a Butterbeer," I told her.
"Sounds good!"
...
Liz and I settled into our Dorm Room. "I can give you the notes now," I told her.
"Great!"
I reached into my bag only to find that my grey leather pocket-sized notebook was not there. "Liz--you might have to wait on those notes!" I exclaimed.
"What happened?"
I told Liz everything I had done today.
"So Rose took the notes while you ordered the butterbeer!" We shouted at the same time. I smiled. It was nice to have a Best Friend who was just as clever as me.
...
Rose gave back my notes and I told her that I could give her tutoring on DADA. I told her that she could join by group, The Time Catchers, #27608. She accepted.
I guess there was more to what my Professors said after all.
