There's a Complication
Chapter 2
There were once eight muggles. Or were they muggles? Anyway, these eight maybe-muggles were destined to be friends. Each maybe-muggle was different but one day, something would unite them. These maybe-muggles were named Evan, James, Lebron, Lucas, Eloise, Rhianna, Jocelyn and Ella.
"I'm not quite sure about this author," Evan said. "They don't seem to have any idea on how to write!"
"I know!" Lucas said. "I don't think I want to read anymore."
"No, me neither," Eloise said. They looked over at Lebron, James, Rhianna and Jocelyn and sighed. The four had found it so boring that they'd fallen asleep.
"What did I miss?" Rhianna said, shaking herself awake.
"The rest of the boring chapter," Lucas said.
"Yes!" Rhianna said, pumping her fist into the air. Evan rolled his eyes.
Then came a knock at the door. The friends whipped their heads around and answered the door.
"Dumbledore," James breathed.
"Hello," Dumbledore said, eyes twinkling.
"To what do we owe the pleasure?" Rhianna said.
"There's a complication," Dumbledore said.
Jocelyn winced, slowly nodding and raising an eyebrow, "Right..."
"Your age," Dumbledore said. The friends hadn't thought about that. Oh great. "We might be able to squeeze you in as students again under different identities but the awkward thing is, there aren't many groups of eight friends. The best idea, I think, is to split you. Have four, interns, maybe, and four students under different identities."
"Okay..." the friends said, the idea slowly sinking in.
"Any ideas which groupings?" he asked.
"Er- I think so," Ella spoke up meekly. "If we have the Ravenclaws as students because their friendship is less inconspicuous. If you give them a separate dorm too."
"Good idea, are you all okay with this?" Dumbledore asked. The eight nodded. "What lessons do you want to intern? We have spaces for interns in Herbology, Potions, Defence Against the Dark Arts and Transfiguration."
"I'll do Herbology," Lucas said. The friends all knew that would be best because it was the kindest teacher. A thought struck the other three soon-to-be interns. One would be stuck with Umbridge.
"I'll do DADA," Ella said quickly, not wanting the others to have Umbridge. Rhianna and Jocelyn protested but in the end it was Ella who was to be stuck with Umbridge.
"I'll do potions," Jocelyn decided. It was she, after all, who was best at it. That left Rhianna with Transfig.
"I'm going to turn the other four into eleven year olds for ease so there'll be no suspicions. You'll be extremely intelligent eleven year olds in the year five classes."
Dumbledore used his wand and turned the four Ravenclaws back into eleven-year olds. It was weird seeing each other at eleven again after being adults for so long. Crazy things tend to happen though in a crazy friend group.
