TOM MARVOLO RIDDLE
Tom Marvolo Riddle had been born in London in 1926. By the time he finished Hogwarts he was already calling himself Voldemort, which is how you know him. During his 20s the whole world was busy getting to grips with World War II which started in 1939. People assume that the wizarding world was not affected but they would be very wrong. It was perhaps the fact that he had been brought up in a muggle orphanage that he was growing up with information about the World War II first hand. In fact, I am surprised that he never actually fought there. I am reasonably sure that had my father been enlisted into the war he would have found a way to divert attention. It was this that started his killing career. By this time, he had already opened the chamber of secrets, killed a student, had one expelled and many others worried. He then started killing others. He moved onto his muggle family members. He is another that found Hogwarts to be his true home and asked Headmaster Dippet to be made Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher. The position was denied. He went on to kill more people, create other horcruxes and instead of working in the Ministry of Magic, which he could well have done, as he was very intelligent, he went to work with Borgin and Burkes in Knockturn Alley. He lived in the house that I still reside with my family, some seventy years later.
