Chapter 1 Leaving

Chapter 1

I could hear my mother moving around downstairs, giving orders to our house elf, Cretch. I finished packing and gave another owl treat to Fira, my black feathered owl. "Lucius!" I jumped, my fathers sharp voice startling me. "Hurry up, boy" he yelled from the bottom of the stairs "Or we will be late! Cretch! Go fetch his trunk". I heard Cretch scurrying up the stairs. I fastened my traveling cloak around my neck as the stooped, little house elf entered and started to drag my trunk down the stairs. At the bottom of the stairs stood my father, tapping his cane threateningly on the bottom step. My father opened his mouth to speak just as my mother rounded the corner. "My, my, your getting so tall now my boy, I will soon have to get you new robes" my mother spoke in a silky voice that my father had come to get used to but that made other men pant. "Thank you mother" I said, stepping past my father and allowing my mother to fuss with my clothes. "You molly coddle that boy, Anabelle" my father growled. My mother took no notice of him and stepped back to look me up and down "Ah, you are a fine boy Lucius" my mother purred. "Hurry up" my father barked "Or the train will leave without him". "Yes, yes, don't fuss Abraxas" my mother said "Are you sure you will be ok going to the station on you own?" mother asked. "Yes, I will be fine mother I'm fifteen now I can look after myself". After biding my parents goodbye I entered our carriage "The station, sir?" asked Nial, our chauffer. "Yes" I said, and we were off, flying over the top of our huge house and in the direction of Hogwarts.
