Chapter 6

My
earphones were tucked in my ear and connected to the phone in
my
pocket.
At this point I had stopped listening because I was half asleep.
I
dreamed
that I was at my gran-gran’s house. I have never been there
before.
Usually
she comes and visits us not the other way around. Was in the room
where
they
assigned me because we were staying for three days. I swung my
suitcase on
the
soft, pillow-abducted bed. I began to pull out what was at the top
and put
it
in the drawers of the dresser. It was made of soft, light wood.
Engraved at
the
sides were beautiful designs that were very, very ancient. The mirror
had
not
been cleaned in a very long while because it was dusted to the brim.
In the
corner
of the mirror I saw the darkest, deepest, scariest shadow in the
world.
You
couldn’t make anything out of it besides it’s a man. A strong,
big man. I
turn
around and open my mouth but then I wake up. I fold taking deep
breaths.
Emma
looks at me.

“Was
it a…dream…?” She asks clutching me gently. I gasp for air and
nod.
The
dream was so terrifying it felt like I was drowning until I was
released
from
its clutches.

“It’s
ok,” Emma says softly.

I
arrived to the big, old-fashioned, mansion of a house. I knocked at
the giant,
wood,
red doors, then the opened by a crack. A man, surprisingly a
butler,
peeked
his head out and asked how he may help us. Then by a mere distance
I
heard
someone begin to speak.

“Ronald
let them in; they might be my daughter and granddaughter!” It came
from another
floor.
The butler turned his attention back to us and let us in. A shiver
ran
down
my spine when I entered the hallway. It was just like in the dream on
the
train.
My heart began to race because I realized what kind of dream Aunt
Emma
was
talking about. I didn’t want it to that kind of dream. If so I only
have so
little
time to prepare myself for what’s coming. Ro9nald the butler took
me up
to
my room. He bent down and picked my suitcase up, then heading for
the
stairs.
He gestured me to follow him, so I did. Another man got Emma’s
luggage
and
took her to her room. I walked into my room. It was dark so I turned
on the
lights.
I gasped and dropped the bag I was holding. Ronald looked at
me
startled.
I made a fake smile and made a lame excuse. He shrugged and
walked
out.
My heart began to race. I have already seen this room. I have seen
this
room
in my dream on the train. But
how could I have possible known how my room would look. I have never
stepped place in this room, in this house, in this place ever before
so how? How did I know what room I would be staying in? How it
looked? And what happens in this room?
I
began to think in my head. I shook my head and told myself that I
should
ignore
it. It is nothing. I open my suitcase that I placed on the bed. I
took
out
the clothes and placed them in the drawers of a dresser. Then in the
mirror
of
the dresser I saw a shadow move. I began to panic but I kept myself
calm. I
turned
around and the shadow began to come closer. The
nightmare is going to end soon. I will wake up on the train in a few
seconds. I

keep telling myself. The shadow is
breaths
away. I closed my eye lids and my shoulders are at my ears. I felt
his breath on me.
But
nothing happened.

I
open one eye. This stranger just stands there still in the
shadows.
There
is
only one window in the room and moonlight entered through it. The
man
begins
to step forward again, entering the light. I gasp more than
before.
It…it’s
my dad.
