The Quaffle is a large red ball that gets tossed around the three chasers. The chasers pass the ball around from different angles of the field to throw it in one of the three hoops once they are close enough to them. While passing the ball, there is a certain pattern of throwing it. It usually goes from the person on the right- to the person in the middle- and to the person on the left. Then it goes in reverse: the person on the left- to the person in the middle- then to the person on the right.

This happens in a constant pattern until one of the three chasers gets closest to one of the hoops to be able to throw it in. Once the Quaffle is thrown in, the team the chasers are on gets awarded 10 points. These 10 points cannot be rewarded if the ball is blocked by the Keeper.
