Chapter 1
On the 17th December 1980 Severus Snape thought that his sister, Severina Snape, was unusually late in coming to a meeting, so he went to see where she was. He turned up at small house in Spinners End, Cokeworth and saw a sight that he had not expected. As he walked through the door his sister was lying on the floor with her daughter cradled underneath her. He may have been a Death Eater but your own family is a different matter. It took him a while to process the shock of it all.
“Sevie?” The little girl woke at the sound of someone’s voice. She walked over to him slowly.
“Mummy won’t wake up uncle sev.” He stared at the little girl. Tears were pouring down her face.
“No, she won’t Lou, go and get dressed and come back to me” The little girl returned in a slightly mismatched outfit, clutching a small rabbit with pink fluffy ears. He stared at her, wondering what he should do. The body of his sister was hidden, taken away. But in this little girl he could see her. He could see his sister. Without a word, without a question, he scooped her up in his arms.
“Close your eyes tightly Lou, we are going for a ride.” There was a loud CRACK as Severus disapparated to Diagon Alley.
