Chapter 2
"Hi," Hermione said. "I'm Hermione Granger, this is Ron Weasley and Harry Potter."
"I know," Atria said and then realised her mistake, she shouldn't know Hermione or Ron! "I mean, I don't know you of course, I mean that sounds rude. Merlin, I'm so awkward, um, I just meant I'd read about Harry."
No suspicion even entered the trio's eyes so Atria relaxed slightly. She was still tense though, as she wanted Harry to win the war but she was scared she'd accidentally give Harry away to her... well, nobody knew but, her dad. Yes, poor Atria Lestrange couldn't have had worse parents, Voldemort and Bellatrix. Rodolphus, Bellatrix's husband was in prison when Atria was born and when Bellatrix had first become pregnant. Poor Atria didn't know what to do. Atria was drowning in her struggles. Fighting too many losing battles.
"I can't believe it!" Hermione suddenly said. "Wasn't there any security?"
Atria knew what they were on about and felt uncomfortable. It was the Death Eaters. The unloyal ones, but the ones who actually believed in pointless muggle torture.
"Loads, according to dad, that's why they're so worried," Ron said.
"Do you think it was death eaters?" Hermione asked.
"It was," Atriqa said unexpectedly. "Oh and I'm Atria."
"How do you know?" Hermione asked sharply. Atria cowered in her gaze but shook her head, tears beginning to gather in her protuberant eyes. "How. Do. You. Know?"
Atria's tears escaped freely now, but she decided there was no point in hiding it, "Before you freak out, let me explain."
The trio's eyes narrowed but Hermione nodded all the same. Atria rolled up her sleeve to reveal the ugly mark.
"Explain. Now. Before I tell the driver," Hermione said sternly. Atria nodded quickly.
"I'm Atria Lestrange," she said. "My mum tortures me daily and I got branded yesterday."
Ron snorted, "Yeah, right."
"Excuse me?" Atria asked sharply with narrowed eyes.
"Well it's obviously a lie," Ron said. Atria's sobs racked the compartment, even after she'd sprinted out.
"Hufflepuff!" the hat called .
Then came Atria's turn.
"You desperately want Slytherin but you're so brave, Gryffindor!!" the hat yelled. Atria felt a tear trickle down her face. She couldn't tell if it was sadness or happiness.
