Dog Vs. Cat
Chapter 4
The Ravenclaw girls feet grew into tiny paws, she grew a long slinky tail, her face grew whiskers and her body shrunk down. Marie had turned into a cat. Austin looked in shock and also in annoyance. He never liked the feline kind, his canine instincts made him want to bark at her. The neighborhood cats would always outsmart him whenever he chased them into a tree or down the street roads.
"You're an animagus?" he asked. The cat purred with a smug kitty grin.
"I never knew that Marie. Though I advise not transforming in the Great Hall." Molina said. The girl saw the annoyance in Austin's eyes towards the cat animagus. "Is everything alright?" she asked
"Yeah, I just don't like cat's that much. I always found them to cocky." he said. Marie gave him a hiss and transformed back into her human state.
"What is that supposed to mean?" she said with her hands on her hips.
"I'm more of a dog person." Austin said grinning.
"Well, I can't stand dogs." she said in return making him more aggravated.
"Well then, I guess you don't like me." he said transforming into his husky mix form. His father would be ashamed he thought. He had already broken one of the rules his father had laid down. Marie squealed with delight. but Marie just sat on her ledge unimpressed.
"Figures, he's a dog." the girl said.
"Oh my gosh! You're adorable, can I keep you?" Molina said hugging the dog. Austin transformed back into his human form as she let go. His face blushed from having the girl hug him.
"Well I don't like transforming in public too much. My father told me to never do it here. But sure you can keep me." he said in delight. "But no leashes or collars." He hated those bloody things.
"Deal." she said.
"Hmm, I want to try something." said Marie as she dug into her pack. She took out a shiny red toy ball that caught the boy's full attention. His canine instincts began to kick in as she waved the ball this way and that in her hands which his eyes followed every movement.
"Fetch." she said as she threw the ball which bounced all around the Great Hall. The boy jumped into action transforming back into his canine form and leaping for the sphere. He caught it straight away and chewed on it for a second and changed back, human.
"That was a dirty trick." he said.
Professor Rubedo looked up and had seen the transformation.
"No transforming in the Great Hall please." he said before going back to grading assignments. The girl stuck out her tongue and began to drink grape juice. The boy put the ball in his pack for later and went back to his studies.
The rest of the time Austin was in the Great Hall he worked on his assignments, greeting everyone who came in. He met more and more people who became friends with him right away, and by the end of the night he had met students old and young from many different houses.
"Well I got to go to my common room and meet up with some people. Hope to see you guys tomorrow." He said as everyone waved him goodbye as he exited the giant doors.Marie followed him sneakily all the way back to the top of the moving staircases, until he picked up her scent and stopped in his tracks.
"Coming to hear the code to get into the Gryffindor common room, huh Marie?" he said as the girl stopped.
"Actually no dog brain, I wanted to give you something." she said. She held her hand and opened it to show a piece of paper she had ripped from her notebook. Austin took the paper and read it.
"If you want to transform without getting in trouble, meet and sign up for the Animagus club. Dog Breathe! >:P"
"Wait there's a club for us?" he asked looking up from the note. The girl had disappeared from sight, most likely turning into a cat and slipping away. He got back to the common room and saw all of his friends asleep and with that he followed as they did and went to bed. Even though most of the night he was sneezing from all of the cat hair.
