Triwizard Tournament

As you know, the Triwizard Tournament is taking place this year. The first task is about to be completed and the ball to be prepared. We spoke to Ellie Smith to find out more.

Callie Ganger: Let's start the interview. What do you think of the Triwizard Tournament?

Ellie Smith: I have always loved and had a great interest for the Triwizard Tournament, and it has always been my dream to help organize this spectacular event.

Callie Granger: How is the tournament going?

Ellie Smith: I think that the Tournament is going great! We have three Champions, one for each Hogwarts house, and are currently looking for a Slytherin Champion. The First Task has begun, and so far the Gryffindor, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw Champions have attempted the task, and they all did a great job!

Callie Granger: Is there going to be a ball? If so, how is it going to be organized? Anyone can participate?

Ellie Smith: Yes! Everyone will be able to participate in the Yule Ball for this tournament sometime after the first task, in the upcoming weeks. The ball will be organized by myself and the organization team, and we will also be hiring others to help us in positions, such as date finder, outfit finder, chef, and much more.

Callie Granger: Can you tell us more about the first task? What did it consist of?

Ellie Smith: The first task was a creature based task, in which the Champions were faced with four different beasts, and had to get past them all, using their knowledge of magical creatures. These creatures were the Hippogriff (XXX), Occamy (XXXX), Thunderbird (XXXX), and a Werewolf (XXXXX).

Callie Granger: Do you know what the second task will be? And who will be the Slytherin champion?

Ellie Smith: I have not decided on the second task yet, although I do have a couple of ideas. And I am also not sure about the Slytherin Champion yet, although I will be contacting people shortly.

Callie Granger: Okay, thanks for giving me your time to do this interview!

Ellie Smith: You’re welcome!

The Life of Godric Gryffindor

Gryffindor favored courage, strength of heart, and determination when selecting students for his house. He also was the founder who advocated for Muggle-Born admittance the most. It was this core belief that separated his strongest friendship with Salazar Slytherin in later years.

Gryffindor also provided a solution for Sorting students after the founders died. He simply removed his hat, and placed a few very difficult enchantments upon it. This hat became known as the Sorting Hat, and is still used to this day.

It is unknown how Gryffindor died, but most think that it was sometime in the 11th century. He left one other relic behind, other than the Sorting Hat, which is the Sword of Gryffindor. He placed some very powerful enchantments upon the two, linking them by having the Sorting Hat produce the sword only to a true Gryffindor.

As we all know, Godric Gryffindor was one of the four founders of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He was also the founder of the Gryffindor House, where a lot of our favorite characters, such as all three members of the Golden Trio, all of the Weasley’s, Neville Longbottom, Hagrid, and Professor Dumbledore were sorted into. Here’s an inside look into his life, from birth to death.

Godric Gryffindor is assumed to be born some time before 776 AD. Not much is known about his early life, except that he was born in a small village that was later named Godric’s Hollow in his honor.

In Gryffindor’s adult life he is known to have befriended Salazar Slytherin, Helga Hufflepuff, and Rowena Ravenclaw. Together the foursome built one of the most known magical schools in the world.

Another fascinating thing about Godric Gryffindor is that he was probably the best duellist of his time, with both his wand and his sword. He was also very fair in his duels, using wands only against other Wizards, and always dueled Muggles with his sword.

As you can clearly see, Godric Gryffindor is a very interesting person, and very important to Wizarding history. I hoped you all learned a little something about one of Hogwarts four founders.

Harry Potter DYI

Today I’ll teach you how to make a easy DIY golden snitch! First thing is you’ll need the following items:

1 Small styrofoam ball

1 Metallic gold spray paint

2 white craft feathers

Newspaper

First, spray paint the styrofoam with a light coat of paint. Make sure your newspaper is on the table or surface you are doing this on. You can use a toothpick to hold down the styrofoam is you want. Second, after the paint drys, stick your feathers into the styrofoam. If the feather stems aren’t strong enough to stay in, you can use glue. I hope you enjoyed this easy Harry Potter DIY!

Fun Fact

Many Harry Potter fans were disappointed to know that Peeves the Poltergeist wasn’t in the Harry Potter movies. Peeves was originally going to be in the first movie played by Rik Mayall, but his part was later cut out in the movie’s final edit.
