Chapter 1
Louisa lay in bed in the Gryffindor Tower Dorm Room, the curtains of her four-poster bed around her. Sleep had been blissful. There wasn’t a care in the world. Nothing could bother her. Her dreams had been filled with thoughts of dancing pixies on marshmallow toadstools. Nothing could have bothered her here. The air was warm, too warm but it was June. She rolled over and felt for her bedside cabinet. An owl was there, it bit her hand.
“Ouch!”
“What the?”
She looked around the dorm. The other beds were completely empty. The barn owl looked again at her. It had a message tied to its leg. It squawked continuously.
“Ok, Ok! Thank you.” She read the message…
LOO. GONE TO TOURNAMENT. GINNY COULDN’T WAKE YOU. OWLS TOO MUCH??? HAVE TAKEN THE WHEEZES BOX TO MAKE SOME MONEY. WILL TELL CEDDERS GOOD LUCK FOR YOU, GRED & FORGE. NIGHT!!!
“What started???”
She ran across the dorm, transfiguring as she went. Down the stairs, through the portrait of the fat lady and along the corridor. When she passed the Great Hall she glanced inside. Everyone had already gone. There was no time. She quickly transfigured and worked her way through a series of passageways. Which no longer served any sort of purpose. When she came up, she was right outside the entrance of the maze.
