Wand/ Staff
Wands and staffs are quite famous for their roles in magic. They essentially are the same thing, as they serve the same purpose, the only real difference is the size. Wands are typically anywhere from only a few inches long to about twenty inches or so, while staffs can be as short as a waist high cane to a carved branch taller than the wizard is. They can be made out of any material except for plastic or rubber. Plastic and rubber do not allow energy to flow through it in a current- which is what you need with a wand or a staff. There are numerous ways to make wands, you could just find a stick and use that, or a long nail. You could find a Crystal Wand at most metaphysical shops, and they often times will also carry wooden or metal wands if you wish to buy one. There is debate among many witches and wizards as to if resin wands can be used for magic. With my experience the answer is yes! You can find MANY resin wands for sale on websites well known to those in the wizarding world. Most of them have a metal rod through them so that greatly helps the energy, but some don't. Resin without the rod directs energy very well, but not quite as good as wood. Resin wands with the rod are equal to using a wooden wand, and metal/ crystal wands tend to work better than wood but not by much. The power really comes moreso from the witch or wizard themself rather than the wand itself. Remember the magic lies within the person not the item (unless its enchanted, blessed or charmed, then it only enhances the magic) (see more information in Wand Lore Section)
Cauldron
Cauldrons typically are pot-bellied, cast iron, three-legged pots in which potions are brewed in; that is what typically would come to mind, however there are many kinds of cauldrons.
