Witchcraft Vs. Wizardry
Chapter 10
Witches are not necessarily females and Wizards are not necessarily males.
Witches and wizards are simply titles due to the kind of magic that one performs. I will get into other kinds of magic and other titles later on, Right now I want to focus on these two to clear up confusion. I hear all the time "What is the difference between witchcraft and wizardry? Aren't they basically the same thing?"
They are extremely similar and often a witch or wizard will reach over the fence so to speak but they are known as what they are for WHAT THEY MAINLY DO.
WITCHCRAFT
Witchcraft is the branch or class of magic where one harnesses the Divine flow and magical essence of all life and nature. Witches don't necessarily focus on processes that would occur- they cast their magic out into the world around them and witness change (however some witches have trouble doing so because they have doubts or worries it was successful that's where wizardry comes into play). Witchcraft focuses on the assistance of Higher powers such as gods, goddesses, angels, spirits etc working with and for them to achieve their goal, leaving the technicalities up to them along with usually an offering of sorts. Witchcraft is a very powerful thing and like any kind of magic can be used for good or bad. That all depends on your personal ethics with magic. An example of something strictly witchcraft is charging a candle with the intention of healing a loved one and then invoking Archangel Raphael to help carry out the healing and then leave it be all up to Raphael to take care of.
WIZARDRY
Wizardry is the branch or class of magic where one harnesses the energetic flow of themselves, the earth, and the universe/Divine and focuses on magic to affect situations due to processes or other catalyst events that affect the goal. To further understand it is like mixing logic/ science with magic (which some say is alchemy but is different) and understanding the chain of events and factors in play that will change when working a spell. An example of something that is strictly wizardry is knowing that somebody is arriving at your place ahead of schedule and you aren't ready for them so you cast your energy into your reality, in the world directed in their direction to cause something to slow them down or change their mind or make them want to stop somewhere for lunch or something before coming over- if you know the mannerisms of this person you have an advantage such as if they are maid back and enjoy food conjure up in their mind the notion of grabbing a burger at a drive through or something of that nature. If they are more worried, cautious drivers maybe influence animals to run across the street (safely so they are in no real danger) but are within sight of the driver and they become more paranoid, driving slower looking around. Or influence traffic to build up. If you don't like them or want them coming over at all you could focus on implanting the thought in their head of just turning back saying something came up, or if your ethics align with this- even cause tires to blow out or some car trouble hindering them from coming over- at least soon.
See, both are similar and can EASILY cross over into one another, but wizardry tends to focus more toward influencing circumstances logically, psychologically and effectively, noting a chain of events that would take place. Witchcraft is knowing what you want and aiming to achieve that through powerful spells and rituals that correalate with times, seasons, elements and other beings that would help the magic along. One is not better than the other both are wonderful means of working magic, But a witch is a man or a woman who practices witchcraft primarily, and a wizard is a man or a woman who practices wizardry primarily.
