Chapter 1
Lily Potter died for Harry. Her love was something that protected him against evil his whole live. The love that she was able to give is known as the mother’s love counter curse. It is something that I have spent a great time researching myself. Why? Because I too have been affected by this counter curse. It is the only thing that I have found to be a viable counter-curse against the killing curse.
During my research I believe that I father’s love can also protect the infant in the same way. However, speaking as a female, and a mother I have the slightly more biased opinion that the mother’s love is more influential however, my husband feels that in times of combat the father’s love is particularly strong as a defence. I was not brought up by a parent but my uncle and he was incredibly protective of me throughout my life and I believe that was also a strong influence in this counter-curse.
My parents added an additional counter-curse when I was born as they found out that I was a metamorphmagus and their fear was that I would be a maledictus. Whatever they did meant that I was protected from Death Eaters for my whole life.
I now speak to mothers. For those of you that know what it is like to have another person inside of you. This is the love they speak of. The surge and burn knowing that a baby, however small is a part of you and you have to be strong for that child for their survival, their life. This is what it is. When you look at your baby for the first time, the pain seems to disappear almost instantly and you can suffer in peace.
To fathers and protectors. Remember the look, how you fell in love, instantly. How you were jealous that she got to spend time with the baby before you. Your heart was taken, captivated. Now it is time show them just how much is in your heart.
To children. So, us all. We all are someone’s child, whether we get to know them or not. Know that your parents and guardians love you always. No matter what. If it feels like they hate you, it’s because they hate themselves.
Protection is a strong feeling. I was protected by my Uncle, Father & Professors. In order to be like my Uncle Severus, I became the guardian of my half-sister and am protective over her, my children, my husband, his family.
Loyalty = Weasley Family, Delphini, Malfoy Family, Potter Family. Mrs Crouch did the most amazing thing for her son when he was about to die. She took Polyjuice potion in his place so that the dementors and prisoners thought she was her son. She is even buried under his name. This is a true act of a mother’s love. Of protection.
