To Louisa (aged 7, moving to the castle in secret)
I wish you’d have brushed your hair. The dungeons may sound scary but it is just another adventure. Another time to prove how you cope with a situation. You will make some great friends over the next few years and soon will start Hogwarts. Talk to everyone. Learn as much as you can.

GRYFFINDOR! Just like her. You may not get to go on the train like everyone else but it’s not as amazing as it’s made out to be. Being a Snape or a Riddle doesn’t and hasn’t decided your fate. You can be whatever you want. Don’t let people hold you back just because you are related to one person.
