Chapter 2
Harry had packed and his parents (mainly Lily) were worrying.
"Have you got your books?" she asked.
"Yes, Mum," Harry said exasperatedly.
"Your robes? Your wand? Your cauldron?" Lily asked.
"Yes, yes and yes," Harry sighed. "Mum? The marauders are here, can I say hi?"
"Fine," Lily said. She grabbed Harry's trunk and pulled it downstairs.
Harry was talking to his uncles. The four marauders had kind of added Harry as an honorary one. Harry was proud and they'd already got him to go through the animagus process. He was a stag, same as his dad. The doorbell rang again. Lily's family had come to say goodbye.
"Good luck, boy," Uncle Vernon said. "See you at Christmas, alright? Sorry, we can't come with you, but Dudley's got things to get ready for his new school."
"Good luck Harry!" Aunt Petunia said, hugging her nephew. She took out a camera and got a picture of him. "I needed to update your photo."
Dudley looked uncomfortably at his cousin. The two were very close and they were both going to miss each other.
"I promise I'll write," Harry told him. The two boys awkwardly hugged.
"Bye cuz," he said.
"Bye Dud," Harry replied. The Dursleys left and Harry's magical family took him to the station.
In the train, Harry sat with Ron, Neville, Draco and a girl named Hermione. They got along right from the start. Well, Ron didn't particularly get along with Hermione but the other boys liked her so she stayed.
"I've learnt all the course books by heart of course," Hermione was saying.
"I haven't even opened one," Harry said. The boys laughed and Hermione's eyes widened.
"But you'll fall behind!" Hermione shrieked.
"No one else will have," Draco reasoned.
"I guess," Hermione said worriedly. The boys rolled their eyes at her.
"I'd be terrible whether I read them or not," Neville groaned.
"Too right, you would," Ron joked. They spent the rest of their journey eating sweets and talking nonsense. Nothing could be better.
AN- I'VE REALISED THAT A LOT MORE THAN I FIRST THOUGHT WILL BE DIFFERENT. THE DEFENCE TEACHER, FOR ONE, MIGHT NOT BE QUIRRELL BECAUSE THE JOB WOULDN'T BE JINXED.
