Chapter 1
The Triwizard Tournament is a contest held between three schools, Durmstrang, Hogwarts and Beauxbatons. I attended Hogwarts in 1994 when it was being held. I was too young to apply as that year the Ministry of Magic decided that an age restriction should be put in place and that no student under the age of seventeen would be allowed to participate. If I had been fiercer, I would have said that the age restriction was put in place simply because Professor Snape had decided that I should not apply, however, I am not sure that I would have applied even if I had been of age.

As it was there turned out to be four-champions. One on every table. On the Slytherin table there was the Durmstrang champion VIKTOR KRUM, on the Gryffindor table there was HARRY POTTER, on the Ravenclaw table sat FLEUR DELACOUR of Beauxbatons and on the Hufflepuff table CEDRIC DIGGORY. It was the most exciting Halloween that we had ever had, and I had very mixed feelings.

VIKTOR KRUM: I was weary of Viktor Krum. The school is notorious for the dark arts and to me, that is all I could think. Perhaps he or Igor Karkaroff, the headmaster would use dark magic. He was a strong candidate nonetheless.

FLEUR DELACOUR: When chosen, the other girls got on my nerves. The fuss that the school showed was annoying. I just hoped that she showed some sort of talent. She wasn’t my kind of person to be friends with.

HARRY POTTER: We were in the same house so obviously I heard a lot of the gossip going on, around and about from other students. I was happy for him but there was so much controversy that it all got a little over the top. You had to a tad sorry for him but everyone was so cross that it was hard.

CEDRIC DIGGORY: Our true Hogwarts champion. How could I not have been happy? I admit there was a pang of worry that felt like a stabbing going through my whole body. Similar to what I now feel as a parent. Each time there was a test I would get the same feeling. To me he was our true champion and nobody was to take his place. I didn’t celebrate with the Gryffindors, I celebrated with the Hufflepuffs. Nothing would prove his worth to my uncle more. I didn’t need proof. I already knew he was the best. He was MY Cedric and at the end of the year we would be together again.
