Where's The Love?
Chapter 1
Sometimes I wonder why we as humans are so horrible to each other.
In today's news we see countless stories of violent acts committed against other human beings just because of who they love, or their skin color, or their ethnicity, or their religion.
Why? Why can't we just ignore things like that and see others for who they really are?
The horrible people in this world see themselves as better than everyone, or better than certain people, when really everyone is equal. Woman or man or transgender, black or white or brown, Christian or Muslim or Jewish, whatever! We are all human beings and we need to treat everyone like a human being.
Negative emotions toward anyone because of something as unimportant as their skin color or sexual preference is stupid, plain and simple. Instead, judge people by their souls. Judge people by their characters. Judge them by the way they treat others. And treat others they way you want to be treated.
So don't be mean to someone just because they look different. Make someone's life better instead. Sit with the kid who usually sits alone at lunch. Pick up that person's wallet when they dropped it and give it back. Stand up for that one person who is bullied everyday.
In the words of Mahatma Gandhi, Be the change you wish to see in the world.
