SAVE

Chapter 7
The battle was different to what she remembered, but then she remembered the haze and trauma. There were other people on her list to save but there was no point. There will always be crying, shouting & pain. This time she chose to do something differently. She transfigured into a dog and ran towards the Great Hall. The last time, the first time she had walked towards Arber, seen her father and been in shock. This time she saw the people in the Great Hall. She saved people earlier than she had previously. Did it make a difference? No. The difference it made was that people were able to heal quicker. She couldn’t bring people back to life. She also got to say goodbye. A proper goodbye before running away and leaving everyone. This included her best friends Fred, Tonks & Lupin.

She was able to see how the battle had affected them and try as best she could to comfort them in a way that she was probably unable to do but tried none the less. The time-turner clicked.

As she walked out of the Great Hall she saw her father with Harry. This she thought was the most pointless one of all. “I will never want to save you. You hurt me. I almost think you want to die. You need to die.”

She saw herself walk in. Struck by how she must have seemed to others at the time she watched her father disappear before her eyes. The girl in front of her was only a year younger, but seemed so different, so innocent. That was until she saw the bodies, the pain, the suffering. She looked around walked out the door and disappeared into the night.
“I’m not saving her.” She thought. “She needs this time. If not then I won’t come back.”
