SAVE SNAPE
Chapter 6
Relieve was what she was feeling. It was a weight that had been lifted from her. As if someone had burst a balloon, but they couldn’t have. Could they?
She had a list in front of her. Different people and what she wanted to do. She couldn’t save them all, she had learnt from her journeys so far that the people couldn’t be saved but there was one just one that she would try her utmost to save. Uncle Severus. For once a more determined look came over her face. She stood in the castle grounds.
Ready. Prepared. Turned time.
Everyone was so preoccupied that they didn’t realise that she was even there. She kept her head down low and tried to remember where she had been. It had been a long time and this couldn’t go wrong. She saw Lucius heading from the shack. She went to him.
“Don’t tell him, don’t go to him” he looked at her puzzled. “he’ll kill Snape, take your family and GO!!!”
He didn’t listen. Perhaps he was too scared to not obey orders. Perhaps he thought something would happen to him. Maybe she was trying to trick him. She didn’t know what he thought. Still things were going exactly as they had done before. She watched as Lucius went to Severus and he made is way to the shack. Now was the time to go. Now or never. She ran.
“DON’T GO!!! HE’S GOING TO KILL YOU” she screamed
He placed a hand on her and said simply “I must.”
“NO, YOU CAN’T PLEASE! I CAN’T LOSE YOU!” Her voice was painful at the back of her throat.
His voice sounded so calm. As though he expected everything. “Time is Time Louisa, have I taught you nothing?” he said “He has already killed me”. He lifted his sleeve to show a mark on his hand. She was crying the most confused tears.
“Alright, but I’ll stay with you the whole time.” She said her cheeks stinging. “together forever?”
He looked at her wondering how he managed to raise her to woman.
“Always”
They crossed the field together in silence. It was a moment that she wanted to savour. When they were a few yards from the shack she transfigured to her invisible self. The person that they would never find or see. She took a deep breath. This was it. She walked beside him the whole time and then sat in the corner where she remembered him being. She saw her father. She saw Nagini. The blame was not now entirely theirs. In a way it gave her peace. As he fell, she stayed beside him she knew that she was with Fred & George just in the other room. She was so glad they were with her younger self. She saw Harry, Ron and Hermione. They said nice things, whether they meant them or not she didn’t know.
She didn’t want to leave him, when her younger self had gone too, she reappeared. Transfigured into her normal 20-year-old-self. She wasn’t sure if she should talk to him or even what to say. It was over so quickly. She just kept repeating “I love you” through salty tears.
