Nightreader'S Notes
I'm told keeping a journal is a good way to stay organized (at least, that's what my mother says) so I'm giving it a go.
This notebook will contain my class notes and some essays as well as random thoughts about my daily life at Hogwarts.

Entry 2 - Charms L1 Notes
Chapter 2
I was super excited for my first Charms lesson, after all what I've learned the least of is practical spellwork. Despite my dad teaching me a bunch of handy spell I've never gotten any real training in spells so this will be interesting.
The first lesson was mostly a small introduction to charms and a bit of history. Actually, what I've learned the least of probably is history, no one's ever taught me anything about it. That's why I also signed up for History of Magic. Anyways, here are my notes from the first Charms lesson.
Charms Lesson 1:
*Witches and wizards used to be integrated into the muggle society in ancient times
-were respected and held in high esteem in ancient Greece & Rome
*Ollivanders family one of the first to start making wands
-started 382BC
-wands used to be unstable
-other methods of focusing magic also existed (for example crystals)
*Around 1000AD wizarding world was controlled by the Council of Warlocks
-Now most countries have their own Ministry of Magic
*International Statute of Secrecy - 1689
*No one under 17 allowed to practice magic outside 'safe zones' because of the DRRUS (1875)
-My home currently an exeption so I can study (yay!)
-Don't break this rule, bad stuff can happen
Since I'm adding this in half a week after the lesson I can proudly say that I received full marks on all my assignments. Not like they were difficult, just a small text introducing yourself, a short worksheet with very simple questions from the class and a description of how I'll be writing my required class journal. So far, pretty basic stuff.
