Nightreader'S Notes
I'm told keeping a journal is a good way to stay organized (at least, that's what my mother says) so I'm giving it a go.
This notebook will contain my class notes and some essays as well as random thoughts about my daily life at Hogwarts.

Entry 1 - Introduction
Chapter 1
Every journal should start with an introduction, in case anyone finds it and wonders who it belongs to. So here's a small introduction to me.
My name is Áróra, although a long time ago my friends nicknamed me Nightreader, hence the title of my notebook. I'm 21 years old and I come from an island in the Atlantic called Iceland.
As I am writing this I have been a student of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry for about half a week. Why Hogwarts? Well, in Iceland witches and wizards have a habit of learning by becoming apprentices. We're a small country so we don't have a school of our own and, although being apprenticed is a useful way to specialize in a subject, I'd much rather learn a wide variety of magic. So I looked at some foreign schools and found Hogwarts to be the one I liked the most. When I found out it had this online version of the school I was delighted! After all, migrating to the UK for school all the time is pretty expensive, not to mention I'd rather not sit in class with 11 year olds x.x
Now here I am, beginning my proper training at last. Not like I haven't studied any magic so far. My parent's... well, my dad at least, has taught me most of the basics already. I'm from a mixed family, dad's a wizard and mom's a muggle who knows about the wizarding world, so I grew up with the best of both worlds. My mom put a lot of emphasis on a proper muggle education as well as magical education so for the most part I've been studying that. I also tried apprenticing myself to a nice witch who specializes in herbology, medicine and divination. She was very nice and I learned a lot from her but I think it's high time I learn some more actual spellwork and get myself a proper magical education from a proper magical school.
Guess that's the main things people need to know about me. Oh wait, I guess I should mention that I got sorted into Ravenclaw. It's a good fit for me, I think. I like learning and one of my greatest joys in life is reading books.
That's all I can think of for this first entry. Guess I'll start adding my notes now.
