Chapter 2
A Tribute to: Primrose Everdeen
Primrose (A.K.A. Prim) is the loving sister of Tribute Katniss Everdeen.
In the beginning, Prim was always described as a soft girl. Katniss couldn't believe that it was possible for Prim to do anything hurtful, especially killing someone else, so Katniss took Prim's place in the Hunger Games, giving her a chance to continue living.
Prim saw the life in everything and had a love for everything that lived, she had the touch of a medic, she could heal pretty much everything with anything.
When Prim found Buttercup she didn't see a scrawny worm and flea infested cat that probably would not have survived he night, she saw a loving animal that needed her care to get better, and fought with Katniss to save his life. And with the help of her mother, who is also a healer, they managed to get Buttercup all fit and healthy again and sent him on his way to catching mice for them.
Katniss saw Prim's potential early on, but she also saw that Prim was fragile, so she protected her sister. Katniss wanted to ensure a way that Prim could survive without her and decided to try and teach her to hunt. Prim saw Katniss shoot an animal and rushed up to it crying, telling Katniss that they needed to hurry and get the poor animal back to their house so that their mother could heal it. That was Prim's first and last hunting lesson.
For Prim's birthday, Katniss wanted to get her something really special, she thought about getting Prim clothes (Really Katniss? Clothes?) but couldn't find anything worthy of Prim, then she saw it. At the edge of the market sat a man selling goat milk, and in his cart was an injured goat. Katniss managed to haggle a fair price for the goat and brought it home for Prim. Prim literally slept next to her new friend Lady the goat all night just to make sure that she didn't need anything and that she survived.
(Now for the hard part about writing this tribute)
Prim was so caring that when she joined District 13 after District 12 was destroyed she joined their hospital staff, and helped to care for those injured there. During the final battle in the Capital, there were a bunch of children put in a trap, and parachutes holding bombs were dropped down on them. A troop of District 13 medics were sent in immediately, (how they knew to be there and got there so quickly seems a little strange) and the final bombs that didn't go off went off. Prim was in that group, she passed away from this world doing the thing she loved best, healing others.
So let this tribute to her be a way of remembering and loving her, forever and always.
