Introduction To This Book

Chapter 1

For years
the history of South America have been ignored, and when I talk about South
American History , I am trying to say MAGIC South American History.

MHASA have
decided to write this series of books to show to the rest of the world how
magic works here. The first book is about Colombia which is located in the
north of South America.

The book
will be divided in three parts, before the independence, after the independence
and the modern era. Also, all the information will be taken from the journals of the members of MHASA.

About MHASA:

The Magical
Historians Association of South America (MHASA) was founded in 1853 by a group
of  eight Colombian wizards who decided
to discover all the mysteries and the history of magic in Colombia. At the
beginning they didn't use a name for their association, but later in 1957, when
more wizards have joined to them, they started to use the name 'Colombian
W&W Association'

The
association used than name the next twenty years, so in 1877 wizards from other
country heard about them and decided to join to them, and after the first
meeting they started to use the name 'Wizards of South America'.

In 1884 the
director of this association passed away and his son Santiago Triana took his
place, changing some of the rules of the association, and he first thing that
he did was to create a School for wizards and witches.

Many
wizards disagreed whit him when he decided just to accept professional wizards with
some muggle degrees in subjects like anthropology and history.

They
changed the name in 1887 and they started to use the actual name. Nothing have
changed since that year, just the directors of the association. The current
director is Diego Rojas a magical historian with a muggle degree in archaeology
and a PHD in anthropology.

In the
principal office in Bogotá- Colombia we have geologists, anthropologists, archaeologists,
historians, herbologists, aurors, potioners, astronomers, wand makers, experts
in ghosts, magical creatures, alchemy, ancient runes, arithmancy, magical
evolution and muggle studies.

We also
have some students that practice and learn about every field that we have in
the association.

MHASA have
been supported by the magical government of each country in the continent, also
we have been invited to participate in some political decisions regarding to
the wizarding world.
