How to make one

Concentrate on what you want the spell to do. Visualise the spell being cast. If it is going correctly, you should have a green cloud around you. Then repeat the incantation for the spell several times. Keep doing all of the above, and do different wand motions. You will get a feeling when you get it. It is not one that you can describe, only one you can feel. Then do that wand motion, say the incantation with all of your willpower. Concentrate as hard as you can. Then keep practicing the spell until you figure out how much actual willpower & concentration you need, and the actual wand movement, and incantation. Write it down and teach your friends!
