Durmstrang Academy for Witches and Wizards is one of the three largest wizarding schools in Europe. Its location is “unknown” but is generally thought to be in the north. Like Hogwarts it is located in a castle, and has many protection charms surrounding it to hide it from muggles and possibly an anti-location charm to shield it from the public. It is notorious for being predominant in the Dark Arts and over the years has produces many famous wizards including: Viktor Krum (seeker for Bulgarian National Quidditch team), Gellert Grindelwald (dark wizard and friend of Albus Dumbledore) & Igor Karkaroff (Death Eater and Headmaster). This was the man that I knew. This was the man that I understood and that could understand me. During the Tri-Wizard Tournament the students sat on the Slytherin table.

I was offered a place at this prestigious school but I did not know about it until many years later. This was the letter sent to my uncle.
