The Yule Ball
Chapter 1
"Hurry up Hermione!" I exclaimed. It was almost time for the Yule Ball to begin. "Oh, Pick your dress already! I TOLD you if bought too many, you wouldn't be able to choose!"
"Oh bother, you're right," laughed Hermione. "Okay, I'll choose... this one," she chose a pink-gold dress, dotted with pearls. "Yes I like this one b-" Hermione stared at me; I was wearing a golden blue dress with frills at the hem, that were covered with coral beads. "Oh, goodness! Ginny, you look ravishing!"
"Why, thank you 'Mione! You look stunning as well!" I said.
"Thanks, Gin," said Hermione. "Oh, I forgot to ask: who are you going with? To the Yule Ball?"
I was afraid she was gonna ask that. Darn. Because the truth is, I'm going with Harry Potter.
"Uh... Harry." I whispered.
"What? I can't hear you.'' said Hermione.
I summoned my courage. Maybe that's why I'm a Gryffindor. I'm good at using courage.
"I'm going with Harry." I said.
"Good f-for y-you?" Hermione was CLEARLY surprised. This made me feel hot.
"Well, who are YOU going with?!" I asked.
"Uh, well... oh, Ginny! Please don't tell Ron...! I'm going with Viktor Krum!" now, THAT surprised me.
"The Durmstrang champion?"
"Yeah," Hermione said, looking very ashamed, "yeah."
"Why aren't you going with Ron?" I wondered aloud.
"He never asked me. So I just said yes to Viktor."
"REALLY?!" I was mad at Ron. Couldn't he man-up and ask a simple question? Apparently not. Big deal if she says, 'I'm really sorry, but I'm going with someone else.'! At least he would have tried!
I took a deep breath.
"Let's finish getting ready. We still need to do our hair."
Hermione nodded.

Hermione and I waltzed out to our partners.
"Good luck." she whispered in my ear.
"Same." I said.
We separated. Harry looked really nice: a white shirt, silver cuff-links, black pants, over-coat, and bow tie. I noticed he had tried to flatten his hair (it didn't work), but I didn't mind. I liked Harry, just the way he was. My hair looked horrible as well. I TRIED to curl it, but I just burnt it. Hermione saved it by putting a red-velvet bow in my hair. So I decided not to curl my hair at all.
"Hullo," Harry exclaimed under his breath, "Ginny, you look great." he added in regular voice.
"Thank you, Harry. You look nice as well. 5 times better than Ron anyway."
"Yeah."
Ron was wearing these ugly dress-robes mum got him. I didn't know who he was with, and I decided I would ask Hermione later.
"Would you like to dance?" asked Harry.
That question changed our lives forever. But we didn't know it yet. All I knew was I had a HUGE crush on Harry.
"I would like that a lot." I answered.
The next few minutes it felt as is if heaven had come to Earth while we danced.
When it was finally over, I looked at Harry.
"Thank you." I said.
"You're welcome." he said.
We kissed.
