The Camps

Chapter 2
It was, and still is funny how people react when they meet Harry for the first time. I never think about it because, well he’s a friend and I’m hoping they aren’t thinking about who I am, but if he had been riding a broom, he’d have fallen off. I swear Cedric and I had mentioned him enough times but this was his first proper look at the boy who lived.

The Weasley camp was in field one and the Diggory Camp was in field two. I had never seen so many wizarding families together. Many had no idea how to act around muggles. We went off and asked for a man called Mr Payne. It was another twenty-minute walk but, after the portkey we were glad of the solid ground. So many people were at that match. Hundreds of thousands of people from all over the world. There were quite a few around me that I could recognise by their faces but did not know their names. They all turned to me and stood back, with a slight bow. We saw the Minister of Magic of Bulgaria, who seemed familiar, but I wasn’t sure why, and everyone was saying hello to Mr Diggory as he passed and he introduced them to Cedric. I kept close behind but didn’t want to be the centre of any attention. When we got to the stand, we passed Lucius Malfoy and I could feel a great burning inside me. Mr Diggory greeted him, his son Draco and wife Narcissa. Draco was annoying the whole situation by bosting as usual but Narcissa seemed to calm down the situation. I liked her more.

We found our seats which were not quite as high as the Weasleys but still fairly high up. As Fred and George said, “they could see them catch the snitch”. The team mascots were wonderful. All the men were enthralled by the Veela that the Bulgarians had brought but the Leprechauns were fun too. Personally, I was going to be cheering for the IRISH people always said there must be Irish in our blood and we went there nearly every year so it had become a tradition. I transfigured so my hair was slightly darker than usual and with shamrocks all over my face. Cedric had dragon wings charmed on his hat. It was stupid but we got a photo to show everyone.
