Chapter 1
You may well know that, by now, the story of Harry Potter, be it in various forms and versions has been around and now it is time for the next generation of children to be making their way through Hogwarts. What do they know about me? Well many will have forgotten about me. To be honest I’m very glad of it.
Harry & Ginny, Ron & Hermione, Draco & Astoria all felt different was were necessary in order to educate children. All of us will no doubt tell a different story. By, in large the understanding that all of the children born to people of my generation is that, there was a war. They understand people died and it was terrible, painful and that mummy and daddy don’t like to talk about it much.
My children understand a little more than others. My husband, and his family were uncertain of me telling them this at the time but I felt it was important. I thought they needed to understand because I knew they would learn about the Battle of Hogwarts at school. I knew they would find out and it was silly for me to hide it. I told them that I was not ashamed and neither should they be.
My daughter has a lot of strength in her and I see a lot of myself in her even though she is her father’s daughter. She will soon be going to Hogwarts and if she gets sorted into Slytherin then we have no problem with that. Her cousin Albus is a Slytherin so she will have family there. She will be a decedent of Slytherin in his house. She is the most fearless out of the two. Very good at sports. Perhaps another quidditch player. My son is very cheeky, a typical Weasley, kind but very good at potions, just like my uncle.
All Weasley children understand that Uncle Fred died at the Battle of Hogwarts along with many others. Mine also understand that just because Uncle Harry killed Grandfather, that is no reason to be nasty, mean or kill other people. I have left it to them to ask me questions about what happened. The main thing that they need to know and understand is that, even though he did lots of terrible things, mummy stilled loved her daddy, in the same way that “despite what you do or what daddy does, we love each other. We stay in each-others hearts forever.”
