Putting it right
Chapter 1
That summer was the busiest I had ever had. The problem was that it felt as though my uncle was trying to make up for something. Probably the fact that he had been so frantic, so stupid and so arrogant during the whole of the term. I started off my going ON THE TRAIN with everyone else from Hogsmeade to Kings Kings Cross. I lost count at the amount of times we played exploding snap, I lost nearly every time. When we arrived, I was expecting Gert, our house-elf to pick me up but he made no appearance what so ever. I stepped onto the platform and waited.
I had never been on a return journey before and I was nervous that everyone was gradually dissipating. Suddenly there came a familiar voice calling me from where everyone was picking up their luggage and putting them on various trolleys and racks. I turned around and there was Mr & Mrs Storm. I couldn’t believe it. They were there. Picking me up! Asking me, wanting me to go back with them. I had spent many weeks at my friend Leanne’s house but I found this to be so exciting.
Usually we spend our summer holiday in Ireland or we go on a trip of choice. This time was a little different. After my time with Leanne I was picked up and went straight with my uncle, professor Dumbledore and a very tall woman to Durmstrang Academy and then Beauxbatons Academy, along with several other teachers and representatives of each school. Like Hogwarts both had already broken up for the year but we were taken round anyway. At the time I didn’t know what was going on so the best I could do was to nod and smile. At Durmstrang Academy I found that I could understand them because I spoke elvish. The boy that was their representation was the son of one of the professors so I felt at ease there. France was completely strange to me. I had been there to see Mr & Mrs Flamel but this was on a very different level. It was as though they were sending me away to the fairies. They were so delicate and one of their subjects is even based on it. I felt very uncomfortable there. I think it showed.
Next up was a full an honest surprise. I knew I’d be going to Cedric’s house because, well I always did. What I didn’t realise was that as his dad worked at the ministry, he was able to get us tickets to go to the Quidditch World Cup!!! Honestly it wasn’t my first quidditch event but this really blew my mind and when I tried to ask about it everyone just tried to hush it over. It was one of the best times of my life and I really don’t care about the Death Eaters. I like to think of that as more of a minor disturbance on an otherwise brilliant time. Why? I had my closest of friends and I was happy.
The downside came because collecting my new school books and equipment only showed the realisation that I would be going back. Time spent at The Burrow was fantastic though and despite the problems it felt like all the clocks were reset at home. I got to see Charlie, Molly, Arthur and Bill so there could be no complaints on my side.
I went back on the train with my Hufflepuff friends. Everyone was still talking about the attack at the cup. Which by now had started to get rather annoying. Rolling in to Hogsmeade Station we got a realisation that we were not on holiday anymore. I was about to start a very hard year of OWLs and Cedric was not my boyfriend anymore or at least wouldn’t be for the next few months and I had to live with that. We both did. At least I knew one thing. I was going back on good terms with Professor Severus Snape.
