There is not much about the Middle Eastern myths of the Hunter that I know (but if I find out more, I shall certainly update).
Orion was known as "the giant (or al-jabbar)." Saiph, the sixth-brightest star in the constellation is from the Arabic saif al-jabbar, or "sword of the giant."
