The Discovery
Chapter 2
Shadow stood gaping at the magnitude of the castle while the girl stood a few feet away, studying the small girl that had just attacked her. The girl had stepped back after getting attacked but had not run like most girls would. The girl was tall, with long, wavy, dirty blonde hair. Her eyes were spectacled, but behind the glass were deep, dark blue eyes, the kind that you could spot out in a crowd. Her shape was slim, but she looked well fed. She wore a black robe and a tie striped with blue and gold. Her finger was on her lip studying the small girl in front of her. Her eyes caught even the smallest details.
Shadow, in a too small black shirt, too small jeans, and combat boots, was scarily thin like she hadn't eaten in weeks (she hadn't). Her hair was long, black, and tangled in impossible knots. Her face was covered in mud. Underneath the layer of dirt and grime, her skin was a ghostly pale like se had spent her entire life in the dark (she had). Her entire being was mysterious and dangerous. Good for Slytherin, she thought. There was one beautiful feature on the girl. She had dark, forbidding, hazel eyes that you would swear to seeing to her soul through. There was one astonishing feature in her eyes though, there was gold in her eyes. The gold represented the child being a wizard's heir.
Breathing in, then out again, slowly, to calm her excitement, the girl said, "Hi. I'm Magnolia. What's your name?" the words came out slightly in a rush, so that little shadow had a hard time deciphering the words, but when she did, she began to look confused. "You're not a flower," she said puzzled. Magnolia laughed. "Magnolias are my mother's favorite flower so she named me after it." Shadow seemed to be able to make sense of that because she said, "my mother named me after shadows." "Meaning?" Magnolia asked.
"My name is Shadow," she finally said, then asked, "what is that castle there for?" Magnolia laughed again. "That is Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. I was going to show you around there soon, once you got used humans." Shadow simply stared at the massive structure in front of her, wondering what adventures it could contain.
